Teresa Murray has spent her career specializing in obstetrics, with over 31 years of in-hospital experience. Her professional journey has provided her a deep understanding of women's health and is complemented by a certification in inpatient obstetrics. She is an active member in the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).

 

Serving as an AWHONN fetal monitoring course instructor for both intermediate and advanced levels as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), she shares her knowledge not only with colleagues and other health care professionals but is able to educate attorneys as well.

​

Her latest and current experience includes a high-risk antepartum unit, where she coordinates patient care for complex cases, ensuring optimal outcomes.

​

As a previous Director of Women’s Services at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, she influenced the establishment and enhancement of critical obstetric services in a newly opened facility. Moreover, her long-time role as a Clinical Team Leader and Charge Nurse further reinforced her capability to lead clinical teams and foster an environment of excellence in patient care.

She is passionate about patient safety and quality improvement, as evidenced by her involvement with the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) committee, where she focused on initiatives aimed at enhancing care standards. Her participation in the Texas Aim initiative underscores her commitment to decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality through the effective implementation of clinical guidelines and best practices.
